Confidence as an athlete is one thing. Cockiness is another thing. Being downright obnoxious is another. I feel like the U.S. women’s soccer team has crossed that last line.
Apparently, this is what it takes for Americans to care about women’s soccer – for the girls (I hesitate to call them women) to be disrespectful to their opponents, and even the country they play for, but then also, when they win, to act like drunken strippers. Please show me any U.S. male professional athlete who acts like this in victory.
This would be like Tom Brady or Russell Wilson gyrating around in a g-string after a Super Bowl victory. This doesn’t happen.
Well, congratulations U.S. women’s soccer team. It worked. We’re talking about you and giving you the attention you seem to want so badly. We’re paying attention to women’s soccer. After all, we U.S. sports fans have nothing else to do right now other than watch baseball and impatiently wait for the NFL season to start.
It’s heartwarming to see at least one member of the U.S. women’s soccer team has been preparing for her life after sports. I see a strong future for her in the exotic entertainment industry. I guess all those pep talks from her coach about preparation will pay off. Literally.

I didn’t care about women’s soccer before, and if this is the culture of the sport, and the athletes we’re obligated to root for in the U.S., I care less about it now. If the U.S. women’s soccer team doesn’t want to come to the White House, Trump should invite the Swedes to come, or whichever team who participated in the tournament wants to come. It’s great the U.S. won, but it’s unfortunate that obnoxious toxic feminism and anti-Americanism has put a stain on the victory.
If this is what it takes to care about women’s soccer, then put me in the ‘don’t care’ category. This could’ve been a great opportunity to evangelize their sport, but the U.S. women’s team thought it better to use their platform to disrespect their opponents, hate on Trump and America, and act like thots.
Nice going, girls. Way to win us over.
Meanwhile, 24 days until the first NFL preseason game.
