The Touryst is made by Shin’en Multimedia, the same team that made Fast RMX. These impressions are from the demo.
There was a small island to explore – very small – with a few people to talk to and houses and a shop to visit. In the shop, I was able to buy an ability that allowed me to grab onto ledges. An old guy told me about a secret buried underneath a tower that’s at one corner of the island. From a clue on another corner of the island, I was able to discover the secret and descend into the tower. Once in the tower, the same old guy had somehow made his way inside, who then told me to stand on a pedestal, which I did. A holographic projection of another island appeared. He told me I could travel to this island, gave me a travel guide for it, and told me to take it to the ship captain I arrived on the island with. So I walked back to the ship captain and gave him the travel guide. I got back into the ship and we took off to the next island. End of demo. It was very short.

Visually, it’s a pretty game, but the demo was so bare-bones, I couldn’t get a good feel for it. I really like the look of the game, but I need more to go on. In total, it took me about twenty minutes. There was a camera in the shop as well, but I couldn’t find enough currency laying around the island to buy it. Maybe I could’ve done more if I had the camera. It’s supposed to be a short game, so I get why they might not have wanted to put too much in the demo, but I felt like there should’ve been more meat on the bone.
However, one cool nod was when I turned on a TV in a house on the island, it played the Fast RMX theme. Great game.
