Indie developers get it. Every game shown for Day of the Devs for Summer Game Fest had gameplay and every game shown looked at least interesting, if not something I wanted to immediately play. There were no long-winded CG cutscenes, and there was no contemporary pop/rap/rock music that you knew wasn’t going to be in the finished product in any game shown. It was a strong show.

Highlights of the show were:

    • Hyper Light Breaker
    • Viewfinder
    • Hauntii
    • Helskate
    • Henry Halfhead
    • Cocoon
    • Ete
    • Summerhill
    • Eternights

What indie developers are able to accomplish with such small teams and no AAA publisher money is getting more and more impressive.
