Hideki Kamiya and PlatinumGames have both announced that Kamiya will be leaving PlatinumGames next month. Kamiya co-founded PlatinumGames in 2007 with Shinji Mikami and Atsushi Anaba, and he’s also worked for Capcom and Clover Studio. He’s directed some of the greatest games ever made over the course of his career, including the original Resident Evil 2 for PlayStation, Devil May Cry, Viewtiful Joe, Okami, The Wonderful 101, and Bayonetta. He’s made quite the mark on the video game industry. No reason was given for his imminent departure, and it’s doubtful we’ve heard the last from him. Let’s hope not.
