Capcom has been putting out remakes to some of their classic Resident Evil games pretty regularly the last few years. Resident Evil 2 came out in 2019, Resident Evil 3 in 2020, and Resident Evil 4 in 2023. They’ve all been received well and so Capcom sees no reason to stop. More Resident Evil remakes are coming, but which ones?

“Yes,” Anpo replied when asked if Capcom wants to keep making Resident Evil remakes. “We’ve released three remakes so far and they have all been received very well. Since it allows a modern audience to play these games, it is something I am happy to do as someone that loves these older games, and we want to continue doing more.

“What game we will remake in the future is something that we would like to announce in the future, so please look forward to it.”

Having played and reviewed Resident Evil 5 recently, it probably doesn’t need a remake. It works great as a co-op third-person shooter even if it’s not very scary, and it still looks good for a game that came out in 2009. Better candidates for a remake would be Resident Evil Zero and Resident Evil – CODE: Veronica. Resident Evil Zero was originally released on GameCube in 2002 and CODE: Veronica on Dreamcast in 2000.
