Mario Day was March 10th, and to celebrate Shigeru Miyamoto himself announced that the next Super Mario animated movie is already in the early stages of development by Illumination. Depending on how much you liked the first Illumination Mario movie, this could be either good or bad news. It’s scheduled to release April 3, 2026.

Also, the release dates for the Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door remake and Luigi’s Mansion 2: HD were announced for Switch. Paper Mario is coming out on May 23, 2024 and Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD on June 27, 2024.

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door was originally a 2005 GameCube game developed by Intelligent Systems (Fire Emblem, Advance Wars), and is generally thought to be the best game in the Paper Mario series.

Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD is an HD remake/remaster of Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, developed by Next Level Games, which originally released on Nintendo 3DS in 2013, and was part of Nintendo’s Year of Luigi celebration.

Lastly, the Game Boy Color versions of Dr. Mario, Mario Tennis, and Mario Golf will be coming to Nintendo Switch Online on March 12th.
