The Rogue Prince of Persia from Ubisoft and Dead Cells developer Evil Empire is now official. A new trailer was released featuring both story and gameplay that show a new animated art style and a new Prince.

Game Informer got some hands-on time with the game. Some key points:

  • This Prince of Persia is unrelated to previous games in the series. It’s a new Prince and a new story.
  • Controls are similar to Dead Cells, with the exception of wall-running, which is unique to the Prince of Persia series.
  • Rewinding time will not be a mechanic. Evil Empire experimented with it, but it broke the game.
  • Difficulty will not be scaled back. Rogue Prince of Persia will be difficult just like Dead Cells.

There were rumors circulating that Evil Empire was working on a Prince of Persia game, and an announcement was coming very soon, and now here we are. Steam Early Access begins on May 14th, but no other platforms were announced. Check out the trailer and Game Informer article below.
