Hideaki Itsuno has announced on social media that he’s leaving Capcom after over 30 years at the company. He’s not leaving game development however, as he stated that he’s looking forward to making more games in a new environment.

Itsuno worked on a lot of memorable franchises during his time at Capcom: Street Fighter, Auto Modellista, Devil May Cry, Power Stone, and Dragon’s Dogma are just a few of the IPs with his fingerprints on them. It’s a major loss for Capcom, but we as gamers can look forward to what he will be bringing us next. Perhaps something with Hideki Kamiya, another former Capcom employee who is currently solo?
