Two more F-Zero games are coming to the Switch: F-Zero: GP Legend and F-Zero Climax. Both were originally released on the Game Boy Advance, F-Zero: GP Legend in 2003 and F-Zero Climax in 2004. However, F-Zero Climax never saw a release outside of Japan, which would make its upcoming Switch release the first time western gamers will have a chance to play it.
It sure seems like Nintendo is ramping up to something with F-Zero. With F-Zero: GP Legend and F-Zero Climax, Switch owners will be able to play every game in the series, with the exception of F-Zero GX/AX for GameCube. Nintendo even released F-Zero 99 which is the first “new” game in the series in years, even though it’s basically a reimagining of the original F-Zero on Super Nintendo. Is Nintendo priming Switch owners for the first brand new F-Zero game in two decades? Will we finally get a remastered F-Zero GX for the Switch and/or Switch 2? It sure seems like Nintendo is setting the stage for something. We’ll have to wait and see.
F-Zero: GP Legend and F-Zero Climax will be available for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers on October 11, 2024. Check out the announcement trailer below:
