Enshrouded is a survival action-RPG set in the open-world of Embervale. It released in Early Access in January and is now on its fourth update called Souls of the Frozen Frontier. The new update brings:

  • A new biome that changes gameplay
  • New enemies
  • New wildlife
  • New NPC routines with dedicated living quarters
  • Townsfolk you can rescue and bring to your town
  • Ability to tame your own wildlife and use their resources like in a farming sim
  • Pets like cats and dogs can be tamed and brought to your town
  • New weapons, new armor, and a reworked glider system
  • New building materials and furniture sets

With this new expansion, it looks like Enshrouded has taken elements of Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley and melded them with an open-world 3D action-RPG. It’s gotten solid user reviews on Steam, as it currently has a ‘Very Positive’ rating, and it’s only $30 at full price. The Souls of the Frozen Frontier update is live now on PC.
