Tides of Annihilation was revealed during the recent Sony State of Play and developer Eclipse Glow Games has now released an 11-minute demo of the gameplay.

We get a look at the world, combat against normal enemies, action and platforming elements, and a boss battle. The world features an impressive post-apocalyptic London. The combat is reminiscent of Bayonetta and there looks to be some platforming mechanics as well. Gwendolyn has the ability to summon ancient knights from Arthurian legend to assist her in battle. Thankfully, there’s no cringe dialogue and the voice-acting and writing seem on-point and appropriate for the English setting. Unfortunately, we didn’t get a look at the giant creatures Gwendolyn will be able to scale and explore.

For a game that doesn’t have a release date yet, Tides of Annihilation looks to be pretty far along and doing well. The world, the story, voice-acting, character models, combat and platforming mechanics, and visuals all look like a game that could be coming out this year. It should look even better as it gets closer to release, whenever that is.
