Shadow Labyrinth is Bandai-Namco’s fresh new take on the Pac-Man series. They’re calling it a 2D action-platformer, so it sounds like it’s going to be a Metroidvania in which you team up with your companion PUCK to battle, eat, and consume until you become the “Apex Predator”.

I’m going to admit, when the first trailer for Shadow Labyrinth was shown a few months ago, I thought it looked like an awkward reimagining of the Pac-Man IP that didn’t fit what Pac-Man was supposed to be about. While I’m not fully on-board yet, this new trailer did a little more to convince me. It looks interesting and could have potential if the combat and traversal is solid. Shadow Labyrinth releases for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch/Switch 2, and PC on July 17, 2025. Check out the gameplay trailer below:
