AOKAKI is flexing a lot of different IPs: I can detect Shovel Knight, Hollow Knight, classic Ninja Gaiden, and the biggest one being Metroid for obvious reasons in the trailer. You play as the ronin Aokaki, who has returned home and is now out to destroy his tyrannical Shogun’s power. Lots of freedom of movement with the ability to parry and pogo, along with an original chiptune soundtrack. Sounds like developer Concha Indigo is drawing on the right influences. Here’s hoping it turns out well.

The story of a samurai who forsook his honor in the name of justice
Play as Aokaki, a warrior with a great sense of justice that rebelled against his Shogun’s tyranny. When returning to his homeland after years of pilgrimage, the ronin finds himself amidst the destruction caused by his former lord, now armed with a mysterious demonic fungal power capable of corrupting and destroying life. The brave Aokaki must fight against the forces of the Shogun and of his Four Generals, in order to put an end to the treat that ravages the people of the Sanagi province.
