If you planning on getting a Switch 2 at launch, but Mario Kart World isn’t your thing, there’s another racing game releasing for Switch 2 that deserves a look: Fast Fusion.

Shin’en Multimedia’s Fast series has been around since 2011 on the Wii. Since then, it’s become the spiritual successor to Nintendo’s F-Zero series, which hasn’t gotten a new release in decades, and may not again anytime soon. If you like to go very, very fast in anti-gravity vehicles on sci-fi, futuristic courses set to thumping electronic music, Fast Fusion might be for you. Even better is its budget price of $15.

Also, since Switch 2 is backwards-compatible with all Switch games, Fast Fusion’s prequel, Fast RMX, is also available for Switch 2. It’s also priced reasonably at $20 and comes with all the courses from Fast Racing NEO for Wii U and Fast Racing League for Wii. So for $35, you can get yourself a hefty amount of high-speed, adrenaline-pumping content. You can read my review of Fast RMX here.

Fast Fusion will run anywhere from 4K/30FPS to 1080p/60 FPS on the TV and handheld in a variety of different graphical modes. It will release with a total of 12 tracks at launch with Championship Mode, Hero Mode, Time Trials, and local multiplayer with up to four players, and it sounds like Shin’en will be supporting the game with DLC and updates as time goes on.
