Cathedral was a vast 2D retro-styled Metroidvania that took inspiration from games like Shovel Knight, Ghosts & Goblins, and Rogue Legacy with NES-era visuals and music. It was made by indie developer Decemberborn Interactive and was generally well-received. The next game in the series will be a prequel called Cathedral: Crow’s Curse. While still a Metroidvania, the gameplay will be focus on parrying and stealth in addition to exploring a giant 2D world. The visuals will be getting an upgrade as well.

Cathedral: Crow’s Curse has no release date yet, but is confirmed to be coming to Nintendo Switch and PC with more platforms to be announced closer to release. Check out the announcement trailer below:
