Since Switch 2 launched last month, exclusive games haven’t been plentiful on the console after Mario Kart World and Fast Fusion. Thankfully, Donkey Kong Bananza is here to change that. It’s the first new 3D platformer Nintendo has released since Bowser’s Fury in 2021, and before that, Super Mario Odyssey in 2017. You play as Donkey Kong with a younger version of Pauline from Super Mario Odyssey as his sidekick as he smashes and bashes his way through a massive underground world. Bananza has been getting rave reviews and is currently sitting at a 90 on Metacritic.
Digital Foundry did a tech analysis on Bananza and came away with mostly good things to say. The game is beautiful and runs mostly well with some framerate issues here and there, which Nintendo’s day-one patch will hopefully address. Overall, Digital Foundry really liked Bananza and considers it a must-play for the platform.
