Shadow Labyrinth is Bandai-Namco’s reimagining of Pac-Man as a 2D action-platformer. You play as Swordsman No. 8 who has been awoken by PUCK (Pac-Man) to plumb the depths of a mysterious alien world. You find out more about the world and why PUCK has chosen you to be his companion as you slowly become the Apex Predator.

Turning Pac-Man into a 2D action-platformer isn’t necessarily what anyone was expecting from Bandai-Namco for the character, but if Shadow Labyrinth turns out well enough, they could have a fresh new direction for the series they can take into the future. After all, Pac-Man is one of the most recognizable video game characters ever.

In the Summer Gameplay Demo, Shadow Labyrinth’s producer, Seigo Aizawa, has a few words, there’s some general overview on what the game is about, and then we get to see a boss fight.

Shadow Labyrinth is out now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. Check out the launch trailer and Summer Gameplay Demo below:
