If you’ve ever looked into a mirror and had the thought that what you’re seeing could be some sort of alternate universe that “mirrors” our own, the one-man developer Hydrozoa has had that thought as well. In fact, he decided to make a game about it called The Art of Reflection. Solve puzzles by passing into mirrors that have their own reality with their own set of physics. Adjust the mirror to gain a new perspective, then jump back into our own reality again. It opens up a lot of possible gameplay ideas for a small indie developer, or even for a larger team, to play around with.

The Art of Reflection releases on PC on September 22, 2025. Check out the showcase trailer below:

The Art of Reflection is a first-person puzzle game that explores mirrors as if you could pass right through them. What happens when you cross through a mirror and walk around in mirror-land? What if objects, or even gravity aren’t the same on the other side? Unfold complex reflected paths as you learn to navigate this world with mastery.

Your primary tool is a snap zoom that lets you pass through mirrors, cover long distances in an instant, redirect effortlessly midair in slow-motion, and more. Solve puzzles inside a room, then clamber your way upside-down across the back side of the same structure. A labyrinthine architecture is waiting for you to uncover its hidden corners.
