Phantom Blade Zero is basically the video game equivalent of a highly choreographed wuxia martial arts film. Developer S-Game recently released another big chunk of content for it featuring almost non-stop combat, interspersed with some story and dialog. The main protagonist’s name is Soul. We don’t know much about his character, story, or motivations yet, but he’s obviously very skilled with various blades and weapons. The gameplay demo is fast, fluid, and is being played on extreme difficulty setting.

Phantom Blade Zero is scheduled to release for PlayStation 5 and PC, but there’s still no release date. It was scheduled to release in 2025, but it’s looking like that might get pushed to 2026, since we’re now almost in August and S-Game is only promising that the announcement of the release date will be in 2025. It doesn’t even have a Steam listing yet. Rumors are that they’re aiming for a Fall 2026 timeframe, but nothing has been confirmed.
