If you like fast-paced, classic-style retro shooters, HMUR is worth a look. It takes place in an alternate version of the Soviet Union during the 1990s. The gameplay is very fast, but the catch is that you only have one life. The levels are non-linear and explorable and are built for replayablity. If you’re having trouble getting to the end, you can try a different path and possibly get a better result. Developer FoxusSexus is a one-man team and is drawing his inspiration from games like Hotline Miami, Dusk, and Atomic Heart.

The action unfolds in an alternate 1990s version of USSR. The city of Mirnogorsk is located in the depths of Khakassia, a city that is the pride of the Union, a center of innovation and progress. The high-tech facilities of this city embodied the vision and hopes for a bright future of every citizen.

Yet, a tragic accident turned the pride of the Soviet Union into chaos, bringing the protagonist, Sergei, into the center of it. A mere utility worker with a challenging fate.
