Fresh off their two successful Spider-Man offerings, during Sony’s recent State of Play, Insomniac announced they’re moving on to another superhero character. One with a chip on his shoulder, and adamantium in his spine. Marvel’s Wolverine will be their next game and the trailer they showed looked like something out of Mortal Kombat. It’s blood-soaked and incredibly violent, which for fans of the comics, is exactly what they want. The two-minutes of footage is non-stop carnage as Wolverine impales and rips apart anything in his way. Even if you’re burnt out on superhero pop-culture and find it difficult getting excited by yet another game in the genre, it’s attention-grabbing. Insomniac is promising a new take on Wolverine’s character, which will be played by JD McIntyre, who’s done voice-work in the Gears of War series and in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
Marvel’s Wolverine releases for PlayStation 5 Fall 2026. Check out the reveal trailer below:
Become a living weapon. As he searches for answers about his past, Wolverine will do whatever it takes – unleashing brutal claw combat, violent rage, and relentless determination – to cut through the mystery of the man he used to be.
