SAROS is developer Housemarque’s next announced title, their last being the sci-fi shooter Returnal for PlayStation 5 and PC. Like Returnal, SAROS is a third-person shooter that’s designed to test your skill levels and keep you coming back for more. You play as Arjun Devraj, a Soltari soldier on the world of Carcosa, which is under an eerie perpetual eclipse. The trailer shows off lots of shooting and dodging in its bullet-hell combat capped off with some giant bosses. Something called the Second Chance system allows you to grow stronger every run, and permanent upgrades carry over when you die. Housemarque is claiming that although they have similar gameplay, SAROS has no story relationship with Returnal and is a brand new IP.
