Star Fox Zero released in 2016 on Wii U, and it wasn’t the most well-received entry in the Star Fox series. Since then, we haven’t heard anything from Nintendo about a new game. Chuhai Labs and Humble Games decided to do something about it and release their own modernized version of Star Fox called Wildblue Skies. It features a colorful, animated art style and a team of ace animal pilots called the Blue Bombers led by Bowie Stray. Chuhai Labs is led by Giles Goddard, who used to work at Nintendo as a developer and worked on Stunt Race FX, Super Mario 64, and the original SNES Star Fox.
