Capcom recently showed the third trailer for the upcoming Resident Evil: Requiem, and we got a surprise: Leon Kennedy will be the second playable character. This will be the first time we’ve seen Leon in a new mainline Resident Evil entry as a playable character since Resident Evil 6 in 2012. He’s looking a little older and more grizzled, but he’ll be a needed veteran presence in the story, since we all know from Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4, Leon has seen a few things. Not to mention, Grace has been terrified, and maybe in over her head, in the first two trailers we’ve seen so far (who can blame her?).
We also get a look at what looks to be the villain, Dr. Victor Gideon, who looks properly grotesque. The trailer is mostly story, but at the end, we see Leon taking care of some of Gideon’s underlings with a gun and a chainsaw.
Resident Evil: Requiem releases for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC on February 27, 2026. Check out the story and gameplay trailer below:
