Team Cherry is not finished with Hollow Knight: Silksong. They’ve announced Sea of Sorrow, a nautically-themed DLC expansion that will take Hornet into ‘salt-stricken seas’. They’re promising new areas (plural), new bosses, and new tools. Best of all, it will be free for all owners of the base game.

The original Hollow Knight received several expansions after its release as well, including The Grimm Troupe and the brutal boss-rush Godmaster DLC. If Silksong follows suit, Sea of Sorrow will not be the last piece of expansion content we get from Team Cherry.

Hollow Knight: Silksong is out now for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch/Switch 2, and PC, and the Sea of Sorrow DLC expansion releases in 2026. Check out the announcement trailer below:
