During the recent Sony State of Play showcase, Konami announced the second part in their Metal Gear Solid revival: Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2. Included in this collection:

  • Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
  • Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker
  • Metal Gear Solid: Ghost Babel (bonus content)

Metal Gear Solid 4 was originally released on PlayStation 3 in 2008 and hasn’t seen a re-release on any platform since then.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker was originally released on PlayStation Portable (PSP) in 2010 and later got an HD re-release for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Metal Gear Solid: Ghost Babel was originally released on Game Boy Color in 2000.

Also included is a Screenplay Book and Master Book for both Metal Gear Solid 4 and Peace Walker, as well as a digital soundtrack.

It sounds like Konami might not be finished with Metal Gear re-releases. There’s still Metal Gear Solid V and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance that could be packaged into a third volume. Maybe even the Metal Gear Acid games and Portable Ops as well.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 releases for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch/Switch 2, and PC on August 27, 2026. Check out the announcement trailer below:
