NINJA GAIDEN 4 was announced earlier this year, this time co-developed by Platinum Games and Team NINJA. You play as both Ryu Hayabusa, and also Yakumo from the Raven Clan as they battle to free Tokyo from the Dark Dragon. This is the first mainline entry in the series since NINJA GAIDEN 3: Razor’s Edge on Wii U in 2012.
NINJA GAIDEN 4’s release is timely as Tomonobu Itagaki, former Tecmo developer responsible for the NINJA GAIDEN revival on Xbox in 2004 and beyond, died just a few days ago. It was his vision that has allowed the NINJA GAIDEN series to live on for decades. Rest In Peace, Itagaki-san.
