The Splatoon series has been one of Nintendo’s biggest success stories of the last decade. Starting on the Wii U, it was originally designed as a multiplayer shooter for all ages. Since then, they’ve incorporated more single-player elements into the two sequels. Splatoon Raiders is the series’ first purely single-player adventure, taking Splatoon’s familiar mechanics and turning it into a looter-shooter.

You play as a member of the musical group Deep Cut and set out on raids on Spirhalite Islands. The object of the game is – loot! Pick your class, pick your gadgets for support, and customize your difficulty as you fight off hordes of Salmonid enemies that zealously guard the treasure you’re trying to pirate. Multiplayer is still present as you can play with up to four others locally or online.

Splatoon Raiders is out now for Nintendo Switch 2. Check out the launch trailer below:

Hunt For Treasure In A Wild Adventure!

In this single-player-focused game, play as a mechanic working with Deep Cut—a trio of swashbuckling musicians—and venture out into the mysterious Spirhalite Islands!

Customize your character, kit yourself out with mechanical gadgets and ink-splattering weapons, and take on waves of enemy Salmonids as you raid the islands for treasure.

Mayday! Mayday!

A strange storm forces a helicopter carrying Deep Cut to the Spirhalite Islands to make an emergency landing.
After a month of scraping together a hideout ship, you and your crew are ready to raid the nearby islands for the rumored treasure you came for—and find a way home!

Scour The Spirhalite Islands

This mysterious cluster of islands has a surprisingly diverse environment, both above and below ground. Go see what’s what!

Head Out On Raids

Pick a destination and see what goodies you can find. Fight Salmonids, gather salvage, and uncover the mysteries of the islands.

Score Treasure

Scoop up purdy Spirhalite Crystals and other salvage that you find out there—you never know what might come in handy! Some stages may also contain rare relics that can power you up. You’ll keep everything you pick up on solo raids, no matter what happens.

Tinker With Your Gear

Not gonna lie: Salmonids can put up a fight. Use the salvage you recover during raids to craft all sorts of enhancements back at your Hideout Ship. Whether you’re upgrading gear, leveling up weapons, or enhancing home base, every little bit helps!

Inspect Your Gadgets

Each tank is compatible with its own range of specialized gadgets, which you can further customize using the loot you find. Equip the one that matches your play style—or swap tanks between missions to try a different approach:

  • SPEED TANK – Compatible with gadgets that boost your mobility. They can’t hurt you if they can’t hit you!
  • POWER TANK – Feel like tackling the swarms of Salmonids head-on? This tank is for you, boss!
  • TACTICAL TANK – Perfect for the thinking Inkling, this tank employs gadgets that let you control the battlefield your way.

Get Moving!

Just, uh, you know, stay out of the water, ‘kay?

  • INK – Splash the stuff all over the place using your weapons. It’s offense, it’s defense, it’s transportation—make good use of it!
  • SWIM – Change into Swim Form to move quickly through your own ink color (and refill your tank). You can swim up ink-covered walls, through certain barriers, and more.
  • SOAR – Move into a gust of wind to soar across gaps or gain height. Handy for exploring—or getting a better angle on your enemies!

Who’s Who?

Get to know your treasure-hunting crew.

  • THE MECHANIC – This is you! Your fix-it skills seem to know no bounds, which is great for upcycling all that salvage you find. Plus, you can choose your own look!
  • SHIVER – Cool, calculated, and relatively collected, she descends from a long line of shark tamers.
  • FRYE – This feisty eel charmer wears her emotions on her sleeve. Sometimes, those emotions look a lot like fists.
  • BIG MAN – Ay. Ay! (The loveable heart of the group. As head of the Manta Clan dance school, he knows a thing or two about busting a move!)

Roll Out With Your Bot Buddy

One member of Deep Cut will raid alongside you in a powerful bot construct. Aside from helping in battle, you can jump off them to soar to new heights or build up powerful Showstopper attacks. Wield them wisely to unleash absolute heck!

Get Wrecked, Salmonids!

Fight off hordes of Salmonid enemies that seem a little more vicious than usual, including some never-before-seen forms. On the flipside, the loot they drop can make your life easier in the long run. Salmonid numbers can get out of hand quickly, so watch your back!

Play Your Way

Splatoon Raiders can meet you where you’re at!

Dial In Your Difficulty

Find your sweet spot with Tourist, Raider, and Survivalist difficulty levels. Change it anytime! Just know that this only affects combat, not the loot you can get.

Call On Friends For Help

You can also join with up to three other players online* or via local wireless**. Call ‘em in if you need help with a stage (or just want to splat Salmonids with a friend). The game will scale player power automatically to help make sure everyone has a good time.
