Rhythm Heaven Groove is the latest entry in Nintendo’s long-running rhythm-minigame series. If you’re not familiar with it, Rhythm Heaven puts your sense of timing to the test with simple, creative and addictive rhythm-based minigames. They’re crazy, and many times funny, with really catchy original music.

The last Rhythm Heaven game was Rhythm Heaven Megamix from 2016 on 3DS that served as a greatest hits from previous games in the series. The series has also appeared on Wii U, Wii, and Nintendo DS going back to the mid-2000s. Rhythm Heaven Groove will have 80 new minigames to work through, plus an extra 30 in multiplayer mode. Plus, for the first time ever, an RPG mode is being introduced that will have you fighting monsters in turn-based battles set to a beat.

Sounds like there will be a lot of content to work through, and it’s only $40 if you buy it digitally on the eShop.

Time your button presses to the beat across a splashy collection of games that will challenge your rhythm. Catch flying veggies, bounce fruit off your biceps, swing sledgehammers, and more. Feast your ears on catchy original music while you focus, including tracks by renowned Japanese musician Tsunku♂.

Find the beat across absurd games

Listen for each game’s beat, button-press actions, and cues that show the tempo. Some games might try to trick your eyes, so keep an ear perked!

Get grooving solo

From flapping umbrellas to tossing frogs, you’ll find all kinds of ways to put your tempo to the test across over 80 single-player games.

Hoop Trundling: Time for a jog! Keep the beat and jump over the hoops. The key? Listen for “pa pi pu pe po” and jump on the last one.

Hop Stop N Roll: Help a roly-poly cat doll jump and roll to the music. Hop, hop, bumble-rumble!

Fruit Flex: Flex those biceps and bop the fruit where they need to go. Don’t worry if some fall – there is a mat on the ground!

Team up or compete

Gather up to 3 friends* around a single system and stir up a chaotic cadence in over 30 multiplayer games! Join forces towards mutual victory or strive for the best timing.

Rhythm Tweezers: Take turns plucking a very hairy onion. Use both hands and stay sharp – it’s game over if the team fails!

Tennis Quest: This isn’t your usual friendly tennis match. Work together to defeat the monsters. It’s the start of an epic journey!

Cake Wait: It’s snack time and there won’t be seconds, so grab your share just as the clock strikes 3. Oh, I’m hungry!
